I was sceptical about noise cancelling headphones, particularly at this price, but they work surprisingly well. I tried them at home sitting next to the diswasher to start with. Switch on and 80% of the noise vanishes. Amazingmost buyers, like me, will want them for use on planes. They are vastly more comfortable than the headphones handed out by the airlines or the in-ear ones that come with iphones etc. They also passively deaden a lot of the noise and still work when switched off (although obviously without noise cancelling). I would certainly recommend them.
Used these on the plane several times, used in the home as well, the only thing is after several hours your ears start to get a bit warm, but, great price, delivered prompt, the only thing better is “bose”.
I was looking for a noise cancelling headphones before my holiday and i didn’t want to spend a lot of money on them, and after searching i have found this jvc one (ha-nc80). The price was good and before purchase i read the reviews on amazon about them. To be hones some of the opinions are completely opposite. For example some people said that noise cancelling is very good, but some that is very poor. But in general this headphones had a good reviews so i decided to buy it. I bought them just for travel, and used mainly during flight. I’m a big fun of music and to be honest i’m quite fussy about sound quality and noise cancelling feature so my expectations from this headphones were quite high. I have used them on ryanair flight and i have to say that i’m very happy with them.
Rather good all round i’d say. I’m normally not the kind of person who write reviews on products and hotels and what not. However, as these were very good and for the money, excellent value i thought i’d better make tht fact known. After much deliberation i decided to get 2 pairs of these for my partner and i. She wasn’t too bothered either way but as we had 2 12 hours flights to new zealand i knew we’d be spending a long time on the plane. It has the airplance adaptor, and they do fold up nice and small so easy to fit into your cabbin luggage and surprisingly they really do work, to the point that you can watch “dialogue heavy” films without having the volume at full blast. You can still hear the plane but it’s very muffelled and is a faint background noise. As other reviews have said, the cups being a little small do squash your ears but no more than the standard headphones in airplanes, and i think we managed about 7 hours of wearing them before they got a bit uncomfortable, so not bad going in my opinion. All in all, i’d definately recommended them as they do work and work pretty well. And for the money you really can’t go wrong.

I’ve taken to using the bus on a 35 mile journey into town in an attempt to reduce my carbon footprint. It’s pretty boring sitting for up to an hour and half on the journey each way and so i listen to pod-casts. However, the rattles and clatters of the bus as it hurtles through the countryside (made worse by all the potholes following two bad winters) makes audibility of speech difficult at times using conventional ear-buds. I’d found that over-the-ear headphones were a bit better and reckoned that these noise-cancelling ones might be even better. I’ve tested them on a return journey of 70 miles and am convinced that they improved audibility as they most definitely cut down the ambient noise. I tested them with noise-cancelling turned on and off and found the headphones were quite good at reducing extraneous noise even when off, but were even better with the active noise cancelling switched on. I compared the two noise cancelling options: “wide” and “low” and, for my hearing on a bus, wide was marginally better at reducing interfering noise. The sound quality is good, at least for speech. The headphones are quite bulky, but fold into a more compact flat shape that fits in the pouch provided.
Previous to these, i had a pair of lidl noise cancelling headphones. The advantage these have is i can wear them with my glasses and they remain comfortable. I mostly use headphones to listen to music and initially i thought they were not as good as my previous set. However, i tweaked the eq setting on my ipod, and the quality returned. I find them exceptionally good when used with a dvd played on my laptop. Every background sound is clearly picked out. Fantastici also use them as noise blockers if i have a kip in the afternoon. Definitely comfortable enough to sleep in.
Jvc ha-nc80 headphones – fantastic. Well normally i don’t write reviews but do take the advantage of customer feedback when purchasing items on amazon. So this time as i was so impressed with these little gems, i though i’d better let you know. As i travel quite a lot, i decided to invest in a decent pair of noise cancelling headphones, the main reason is i’m just fed up with the constant shouting from the air stewardess selling total rubbish like duty frees and lottery tickets (if you travel with ryanair you’ll know what i mean). Yep it does what it says on the tin. . It has a 2 setting switch “wide” and “low” mode, which cancels the type of noise typically found in a jet cabin. I also found the closed earpiece very comfortable for at least 3 hours – plenty long enough to watch a good film. I used it with my archos media player which is a must especially on thomas cook flights because anything under 4 hours they have withdrawn in-flight entertainment. Ok they may not be the best on the market but for the price you wont go wrong – some of the reviews state save your money and get a more expensive pair but i think they were def’ worth the money,. Comes with a nice little carry pouch as well.
